An Array Junction Box (AJB), also known as a string combiner box or solar DCDB, is an important protection and distribution point in a solar PV system. It collects the DC output from multiple solar module strings, protects individual strings using gPV fuses, diverts lightning and switching surges through DC Surge Protection Devices (SPD), and provides a DC load-break switch for safe isolation of the solar array from the inverter.
